How do I enrol my child in their first year of primary school?

This year our school is using an online system for new enrolments to Victorian government schools called VicStudents.
VicStudents is available for students who are enrolling in a Victorian Government School for the first time.
This includes Foundation (Prep) enrolments for 2025.

VicStudents has been assessed by the Department of Education to a high degree of security in line with the Victorian Protective Data Security Standards and is compliant with ISO 27001, the leading international standard for information security.

Please ensure that all documents required are attached to the application.

1. Take these steps to enrol your child in their first year of primary school:
2. Find your local school on the Find my School website.
3. Contact a government primary school to book a school tour or to learn more about the school and the enrolment application process.
4. Visit to create an account and complete the online application form by Friday 26 July 2024
5. We will then review the information submitted and be in contact with you by Friday 9 August 2024.
6. You should accept one enrolment offer by Friday 23 August 2024.
   When accepting an offer, you will be required to provide additional personal and health information that will be shared with the school.
7. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2024.
8. Your child will start Foundation on Wednesday 29 January 2025.
